Great Adaptations: Film Night at the Library

Join us for a screening of the award-winning film "Hud," based on the novel Horseman, Pass By by Larry McMurtry.

The film will be followed by a discussion of the movie led by local teacher and film critic Walter Chaw. The door opens and seating begins at 5:20 p.m.

Great Books Discussions

Douglas County Libraries currently sponsors Great Books Discussion Groups at four libraries:

Over fifty years ago, the Great Books Movement started at the University of Chicago with the idea that ordinary people could meet and discuss the enduring ideas and issues found in classic writings. The Great Books Foundation promotes reading and conversation about great literature through discussion groups.
