The little-known adventures of Daniel Chessman Oakes (also known as D.C. Oakes) come to life in D.C. Oakes - Family, Friends & Foe. Local author Lavonne Perkins will share stories of Oakes' connections to Buffalo Bill Cody and Kit Carson, along with new information not found in her book.

Great Books Discussions
Douglas County Libraries currently sponsors Great Books Discussion Groups at four libraries:
Over fifty years ago, the Great Books Movement started at the University of Chicago with the idea that ordinary people could meet and discuss the enduring ideas and issues found in classic writings. The Great Books Foundation promotes reading and conversation about great literature through discussion groups.

Highlands Ranch Mystery Loves Company Reading Group meets the 1st Thursday of every month at 7pm. Everyone is welcome.

Mother-Teen Daughter Book Group
Meets the first Monday of each month at 7pm. Teens in 7th - 12th grade are invited to bring their moms or another adult female and discuss books. No registration necessary. Please contact Lisa Casper at: lcasper@dclibraries.org for details.

This storytime for adults takes place the second Wednesday of every month from 7-8 p.m. at Highlands Ranch Library in the Reading Lounge on the second floor. No registration required. Come enjoy readings by staff of short stories, poems, from funny to mystery to the unforgettable.
