Douglas County Libraries offers over a hundred Playaways, a palm-sized unit, much like an Mp3 player, that comes pre-loaded with an audiobook.
Half the size of a deck of cards, Playaways are available for children, teens and adults.
The units feature easy-to-use controls, and a universal headphone jack that works with most any headphone or mobility accessory. The Playaways also allow users to adjust the speed of the narrator’s voice.
